Wei-Chen Chen is currently a student art therapist/interdisciplinary artist under the supervision of Vancouver Art Therapy Institute.
He is a Creative Arts Instructor at SA Institute. His artistic practices includes Sketching, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Photography, Filmmaking, and Acting.
Wei-Chen obtained his MA from National Taiwan University of Arts. He is an alumnus of Vancouver Acting School, New York Film Academy, and Pasadena City College.
His documentary film MisMarriage (2020) won the 2021 FFIFA Best Documentary Short Director award.
Wei-Chen Chen aims to inspire others to tell their own stories and discover their artistic expression by sharing his own journey of trauma recovery and healing through Art, Theater & Filmmaking.
Serlyris is the name of Wei-Chen Chen's fictional creation: Sea Serpent, a painting series of depicting Water & Light energies. This sacred Sea Serpent shares the same purpose of the medical symbol Caduceus, Staff of Hermes.
